The Foundation
The Eyes on Africa Foundation was founded in September 2007, and has already managed to raise quite a bit of money to benefit our causes. From volunteering in orphanages, to educational development, EOAF is proving itself at every obstacle.
As a 501(c)(3) every donation made to the Eyes on Africa Foundation is tax deductible, and goes directly into the hands of our volunteers. There is no middle man, and the Eyes on Africa Foundation conducts vigorous research on causes we choose to support.
A Board of Directors, from schools across the US, works directly with our Campus Coordinators as well as community and national leaders, to promote awareness and raise funds. Now, more than 30 campuses across the world – and growing – are working together to bring change to Africa.
Our Mission:
To provide relief to the most poverty and disease ridden areas of Africa through monetary donations and volunteerism.
Currently, this incorporates two efforts: our work with community organizations like Etafeni in Nyanga, South Africa as well as our support of the Rupara community in Namibia.
The Eyes on Africa Foundation was inspired in part by the African philosophy of Ubuntu, described below in an excerpt from Jeff Lakusta’s journal during his first visit to Africa.
Yet we are not the same.
Same the not are we,
Yet, me are you and you am I.
