EOAF Donates Car for Social Worker
We donated the mobile testing centre to Etafeni outside Cape Town, South Africa. Returning there one year later, we found both the incredible success of the prototype vehicle as well as the further needs of the outreach testing program. Neliswa, a young South African social worker, has dedicated her life to serving others. But her job is a lot harder without transportation.
When we heard Neliswa didn’t have a car to reach the patients of our mobile testing centre and the community she served at large, our volunteer team began searching for a solution!
After searching the classifieds and car dealerships all over, we finally found the best deal. We also quickly found out that we couldn’t drive stick on the left side of the car! Instead of driving the car straight to Nalisswa we used “Plan B” and donated the money to purchase the vehicle we’d reserved.
Neliswa didn’t seem to mind.
Eyes on Africa visits Etafeni once a year and has several continuous projects based in Nyanga. Read more about our partnership with Etafeni here.
